We’re deep into autumn right now in the Pacific Northwest. It makes for brisk mornings and cold rainy evenings. Since it’s November, it’s also NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month.) The book I’m working on right now takes place in the fall. It’s the second book in my new About Love series. The first one in the series Truth About Men & Dogs is currently up for preorder and will be released next month.
You might notice that’s a different series name than I had originally. The original name was Truth Harbor. It’s kind of a long story, but I named the series after the town where the books take place, but then it occurred to me that might be limiting. This way the characters can be anywhere and the series name will still fit since all the books are About Love. I also like how it ties in with the titles.
The second book in the series has a link with Sweet Life in Seattle since the hero – Joshua Trevant was once married to Lindsay (from Some Like It Hotter.) He’s a rock star who buys a house in Truth Harbor because he’s trying to live a normal life. But, of course, that all goes to hell. I’m hoping to get the preorder up by the end of the year, though it won’t be out until spring.
In the same way the romance in my books tend to be slow burn, I’m also a slow writer. My writing style is called pantsing. (Writing by the seat of your pants.) I only do high-level plotting, so I have no idea what’s going to happen next in each story. It’s sort of like I’m writing a book and reading one at the same time. I start out knowing who my characters are, but not much else. I’ve tried plotting, and I wish I could do it, but I’ve discovered I’ll lose interest in the story if I know too much about it. It’s the discovery that keeps me going and keeps me interested.
I hope you’re having a cozy autumn and are finding lots of good books to read with a hot cup of tea or cocoa by your side!

Andréa
